Best Builds

Combat

Note: There are 3 different types of Cooldowns. Base, Party and Mounted.
Mounted matches the tooltip CT.
Base is a little longer than the Tooltip, ~20%.
Party is half the CT.
This affects the power of Serenity & Impatient.

Raid Builds

Raid Attacker Build

This build is the recommended build for almost all combat pals. The 20% or 30% elemental buffs are skipped because more often than not mixing skills of different elements is better than using three skills of the same element.

Vampiric does not provide a large amount of heal vs Raid bosses.

Defensive Builds generally perform worse, Diamond Body is not worth it over more damage passives.

Raid Rescue Build

Support pals will rescue downed pals if you turn off combat in the Pal Monitor Stand for them. They bring the pals to beds to revive them.
This is the example for a Rescue Blazamut Ryu build. For other pals swap Runner for Legend.

Party Pal Builds

Serenity has a lot lower impact on party pals since they already have a built in 50% CT reduction. Serenity is only a top pick in very rare situations where you use 50+ CT attacks.

Party pals also have a built in damage reduction as well as withdraw dodge, making defense builds worse in comparison.

The 30% Element Bonus Passives lose out compared to Musclehead and even Ferocious due to the strength of Holy Burst and Air Blade.

Playstyle & Build

For Party Pal Builds you can choose to use 1 main fighter + 4 Utility/Booster/Mount pals. Since Patch v0.5 attacks now cooldown while pals are withdrawn, allowing you to rotate between 2-5 pals for max attack uptime.
Example: 5 Shadowbeaks using Divine Disaster after each other, swapping after each attack is used.
Luckily both example builds work for both playstyles.

Regular Builds

Two common builds, one with Vampiric for less babysitting & withdraw dodging, works well with Booster pals. The other is a pure damage build that works solo or when rotating pals.

Vampiric Build

Vampiric is good for sustain against Tower Bosses. Often paired with 4 Booster Pals.

Example: Shadowbeak, Orserk.

Ferocious Build

High burst damage and high dps with all CT skills mixed in. Versatile for element picks on attack. Allows for booster or rotating playstyle.

Example: Knocklem, Bushi.

Combat Mount Build

High movespeed to avoid attacks is more important than defense due to stagger when hit. Vanguard Boosts the players damage for maximum partner skill effect (See: Max Attack Build)

Example: Ragnahawk, Chillet.

Max Player Attack Build

Can be used on any pal but most often on fightning element swap pals.
Vampiric for minimum babysitting when focusing on player damage.
Vanguard Boosts the players damage for maximum partner skill effect (See: Max Attack Build)
Swap Serenity to Legend or Musclehead depending on attacks used on the pal.

Example: Anubis (Serenity Rockburst vs Zoe), Wixen.

Raid Boss Builds

Xenolord, Bellanoir Libero and Blazamut Ryu can’t get Legend.
They also have exclusive attacks and spawn with a 30% Element Boost passive for 2 elements

Siren of the Void boosts Ice and Dark.
Eternal Flame boosts Fire and Electric.
Invader boosts Dark and Dragon.

What build you should go on depends on if you plan on using the pal as a Base Raider or Party Pal, and also what attacks you plan to use on it.
In general the build above is good for Bellanoir Libero and Xenolord.
For Blazamut Ryu it is not worth it to run Eternal Flame.

Note: The strength of Holy Burst, Air Blade and Lightning streak often make going for the elemental builds a weaker option. Xenolord and Libero have very strong Exclusive skills with long animations that can make it an option.

Booster & Utility Pals

Booster Pals are pals that power up pal or player attack power while in the party. These pals don’t leave their spheres to provide the Partner Skill effect. You only need Vanguard and Stronghold Strategist, the remaining slots are free for either Fine Furs + Noble for sale price increase and buying discounts, or Motivational Leader for a work speed bonus.

Examples: Gobfin, Rooby, Hoocrates.

Utlility pals are pals like Gliders, Mimog or Croajiro. They are not used to attack in combat so they can also provide Vanguard + Stronghold Strategist.

These pals don’t attack or get attacked, so no souls, levels or buffs are needed.

Base Pals

Work Speed Pals

Dark pals are naturally Nocturnal, they don’t need the passive skill.

Diet Lover makes pals eat less. Food gives buffs and sanity, so it is not a good passive.

Workaholic provides a minor increase in uptime for some workstations, but not enough to outclass work speed bonuses. Some workstations don’t cost sanity at all, like plantations and ranches.

Nocturnal vs Serious

Nocturnal is a very slight production bonus over Serious, but often leads to transporting issues where low priority work stations never get emptied (like logging site). Keeping Nocturnal transporters and Serious workers helps Transporting.

Pals where you want Nocturnal: Transporters and Cooling pals (refrigerator).

Transporters

Work speed doesn’t affect transporters, only move speed.
On Nocturnal pals like Vanwyrm use Nimble.

Transporter passives is not very important. You can also use Hunger reduction passives to save on good food like Mozzarina Hamburger.

Mount & Extras

Mounts

Legend, Runner, Swift and Nimble or Eternal Engine. You can also swap in Vanguard depending on the use of the mount.

Nimble vs Eternal Engine comes down to preferences and use. For mounts used in short bursts (resetting predator pals, flying between triple-bases) nimble is better. When shooting/catching or exploring Eternal Engine is better.

Stamina lets you jump more and use more attacks if you plan on using the pals own attacks as well, like Rockbursting dungeon bosses.

Sell Team

You want 5 pals with these 2 passives somewhere in your collection. They stack, giving a 40% discount when buying and a 40% bonus when selling.
