Starting at Lv 5+ on the starter islands Direhowl packs a punch in the early game. With Fierce Fang + Bog Blast a Lv 10 Direhowl has enough DPS to take down Zoe & Grizzbolt.
The early saddle at Lv 9 is cheap to craft and with the decent speed stats makes Direhowl is a great early game mount. The next option is Univolt at Lv 14.

Direhowl is not a good base pal.
