Core Mechanics
Raid Bosses are boss fights in Palworld where the player can use a full party and a base full of pals to fight. The Rewards include an Egg (10% Alpha) of the Boss and IV fruits.
Raid Boss fights are started by placing a Slab in a Summoning Altar (Level 32 Tech). Each Raid Boss has its own Slab. You will get a choice to fight inside your own base or teleport to a Raid Area.
Since the rescue strategy got patched out the most effective tactic is to maximise Player & Party damage to draw aggro. With good positioning far away from the raid army the raid army pals no longer take damage.
Raids have a 10 minute timer. A raid fight is not lost if the player dies, only if the timer runs out or the Pal Box is destroyed.
Slabs
One Slab is crafted from 4 Slab Fragments. Each boss fight consumes the slab and the summoning altar. You need to have at least one fragment in the inventory to see the option to craft a Slab at the Assembly Line.
Defeating a Raid Boss drops the Ultra Slab for a more difficult fight with better rewards. Blazamut Ryu (Ultra), Xenolord (Ultra), Hartalis (Ultra) and Moon Lord (Master) also drop their own slab. Bellanoir Libero (ultra) does not.
Bellanoir has no ultra fight.
Raid Base
Home Sweet Home added the Raid Area. It is no longer necessary to build a raid base.
It is recommended to build materials into the raid area for building 1 or more Remote Palbox Devices.
Raid Bosses
There are 9 Raid Bosses in Palworld, including Ultra variants.
The ultra bosses drop the same eggs as the regular version.

Counter Pals
Any mix of dragon pals around level 30 will do the job. The ones available at this stage are
- Astegon, Orserk, Jormuntide Ignis (Lv 40-45 Sanctuary Island 2-3)
- Dinossum Lux (Lv 35-39 Desert)
- Relaxaraus Lux (Lv 31 Alpha Boss)
- Xenogard (Meteor)
- Elphidran (Lv 30 Alpha Boss, Lv 18-22 Sanctuary Island 1)
- Quivern (Lv 23 Alpha Boss)
- Azurobe (Lv 17 Alpha Boss, Lv 18-22 Sanctuary Island 1)
- Relaxaurus (Lv 15-20 wilds)
- Chillet (Lv 11 Alpha Boss, Lv 20-28 Frostbound Mountain, Lv 36-39 Astral Mountain Ruins)
At level 30 a good method is to catch the Elphidran and Relaxaurus Lux bosses each day.
Counter Skills
Bellanoir has a floating hitbox making it dodge a lot of attacks.
Two great attacks vs Bellanoir are Seed Mine and Flare Storm. They can be bought from Merchants.
Beam Slicer > Air Blade = Seed Mine = Flare Storm = Lightning Streak = Dragon Cannon
Threats
Nightmare Ray is Bellanoirs Exclusive attack and it deals heavy damage. Run Away from the boss, the ray tracks sideways.
Apocalypse can deal a lot of damage to base pals.
Bellanoir Libero – Lv 50

| Element | Phase 1: Dark Phase 2: Ice |
| Weakness | Phase 1: Dragon Phase 2: Fire |
| Health | 450 000 |

| Defense | Phase 1: 425 Phase 2: 319 |
| Status Resist | 1 |
Total HP is total health adjusted for damage reduction and Phase 2 Heal.
At 10% HP left the boss heals 30% HP and swaps element to Ice. The Boss also starts using new Ice attacks, gains 75% Attack and loses 25% Defense. It also gains a 20% Dark damage boost.

Counter Pals
Any mix of decent pals at level 60+ will do the job. The 10+ level difference does a lot for making the fight easier. You can use dragon pals for Phase 1 and swap to Fire pals for phase 2, but that is a bit overkill unless doing the fight early and most often a single raid army will work fine.
Base Pals
- Jormuntide Ignis (Lv 52-56 Feybreak Lava Fields)
- Jetragon
- Paladius
- Necromus
- Frostallion
- Neptilius
At level catching Jormuntide Ignis at Sanctuary 2 and leveling them a little or using fresh Feybreak ones works.
You can also steal Xenogards from the lvl 60 enemy base on Astral Mountain, or any high level pal from there/Sakurajima.
Party Pals
Player Damage Build:
Chillet (Phase 1)
Ragnahawk / Wixen (Phase 2)
4 Gobfins
Use player damage with super effective element swap pals and Gobfins to maximize dps. Scales with player gear.
Knocklem Build:
2 Knocklem + 3 Dumud
Swap between 2 Knocklems for 100% Partner Skill uptime for very high pal dps.
Beam Slicer Xenogard Build:
2-5 Xenogards
Xenogard naturally learns good attacks, rotate between 2-5 for Beam Slicer Spam in Phase 1 and Air Blade in Phase 2.
Counter Skills
Bellanoir Libero has a floating hitbox making it dodge a lot of attacks.
Two great attacks vs Bellanoir Libero are Seed Mine and Flare Storm. They can be bought from Merchants.
Beam Slicer = Flame Funnel > Air Blade = Seed Mine = Flare Storm = Lightning Streak
When using 1 army it is still worth it to run Beam Slicer despite the Phase 2 change. Flame Funnel is great damage and deals lots of burst during Phase 2.
Threats
Nightmare Bloom is Bellanoir Liberos Exclusive attack and it deals heavy damage. Run backwards away from the boss, the attack tracks sideways.
Apocalypse and Flame Waltz can deal a lot of damage to base pals.
The Phase 2 change almost doubles the boss attack while also increasing the damage it takes. Diamond Rain deals a lot of damage and the new Ice attacks freeze.
Bellanoir Libero (Ultra) – Lv 50

| Element | Phase 1: Dark Phase 2: Ice |
| Weakness | Phase 1: Dragon Phase 2: Fire |
| Health | 900 000 |

Counter Pals
Any mix of decent pals at level 60+ will do the job. The 10+ level difference does a lot. You can use dragon pals for Phase 1 and swap to Fire pals for phase 2, but that is a bit overkill unless doing the fight early.
Fresh Caught Base Pals
- Jetragon
- Paladius
- Necromus
- Frostallion
- Neptilius
Note: Any army you breed for Xenolord will be able to handle Blazamut Ryu and Bellanoir Libero as well as their Ultra variants. There is no need to breed a specific counter for these raid encounters.
Party Pals
Player Damage Build:
Chillet (Phase 1)
Ragnahawk / Wixen (Phase 2)
4 Gobfins
Use player damage with super effective element swap pals and Gobfins to maximize dps. Scales with player gear.

2 Knocklem + 3 Dumud
Swap between 2 Knocklems for 100% Partner Skill uptime for very high pal dps.

Bellanoir Libero has a floating hitbox making it dodge a lot of attacks.

Beam Slicer, Flame Funnel > Air Blade = Seed Mine = Flare Storm = Lightning Streak
When using 1 army it is still worth it to run Beam Slicer despite the Phase 2 change. Flame Funnel is great damage and deals lots of burst during Phase 2.
Threats
The Ultra fight has the same mechanics as the regular fight with 50% more damage and ~x3 more HP. This makes Phase 2 last longer which can easily overwhelm with the added damage to the boss.
Blazamut Ryu – Lv 55

| Element | Phase 1: Dragon/Fire Phase 2: Electric |
| Weakness | Phase 1: Water Phase 2: Ground |
| Health | 512 680 |

| Attack | Phase 1: 1272 Phase 2: 1081 + 20% Dragon |
| Defense | Phase 1: 565 Phase 2: 819 |
| Status Resist | 10 |
Total HP is total health adjusted for damage reduction and Phase 2 Heal.
At 10% HP left the boss heals 30% HP and swaps element to Electric. The Boss also starts using new Electric attacks. Blazamut Ryu has a higher status resist rate than Bellanoir Libero, which means it will get stunned less often as the fight goes on.

Selyne Holy Burst Build:
1-5 Selyne using the Holy Burst & Air Blade combo with the Partner Skill bonus. Fill empty party slots with Ribunny or Cremis.
Player Tank Build:
Felbat/Lovander – 4 Gobfin.
Felbat & Lovander give the player 9% lifesteal at 4-stars. You can maintain aggro and tank the boss with this build and strong weapons.
Counter Skills
Phase 1: Holy Burst – Hydro Slicer – Air Blade
Phase 2: Holy Burst – Rockburst – Air Blade
If not swapping armies just run Rockburst.
Threats
Every attack can cause burn during phase 1. During Phase 2 Ryu loses a little attack but becomes a lot tankier. The electric skills also deal big aoe damage, often shredding through base pals.
Magna Crush can be very tricky to dodge, you can tank it with the shield.
Blazamut Ryu (Ultra) – Lv 55

Counter Skills
Holy Burst, Air Blade, Blast Cannon, Beam Slicer.
Bring ~6 pals that have Meteorain to deal with the adds, either 6 Jetragons or breed it down from Jetragon to the raid army.
Threats
It is best to fight Xenolord from the air on the back of a flying pal to avoid comets, Blast Cannon, Omega Laser & Beam Slash.
You will need to outspeed Satellite Bit. Beam Slicer gets x3 damage to flying targets and can still one shot mounts. Always fly counter clockwise.

The ultra fight adds a lot of dangerous attacks to Xenolord. A mix of fire skills to counter ice pals as well as Stone Beat and Holy Burst for huge aoe damage.
You will need to outspeed Satellite Bit. Beam Slicer can still one shot mounts if you get to close to Xenolord, keep flying counter clockwise.
Since the bosses now focus players it is best to save a freeze or electric attack to stun Xenolord out of the air when it uses Cosmic Meteor.
A Cosmic Meteor + Astral Ray is often enough to kill the player.

It uses many heavy hitting area of effect attacks dealing lots of damage to pals with big hitboxes.
Due to Hartalis there is a very limited selection of attacks that work well.
Most raid armies work in Phase 1, but large pals suffer heavily in phase 2.
Bellanoir & Bellanoir Liberos Exclusive Attacks Nightmare Ray & Nightmare Bloom deal huge damage to the barriers. It is recommended to keep a Bellanoir Libero in the party to swap in for each barrier.

Party Pals
Player Damage Build:
Phase 1:
Beakon – Bellanoir Libero – 3 Gobfins
Phase 2:
Frostallion Noct – Bellanoir Libero – 3 Gobfins
This Build maximises player damage with the element swap mounts.
Bellanoir Libero takes care of the Barriers.
Pairs well with the V1 armor for more sustain.
Player Tank Build:
Felbat/Lovander – Bellanoir Libero – 3 Gobfin.
Hartalis attacks slowly, taking pauses after each wave of attacks.
Using a Felbat or Lovander lets the player heal to full after each attack.
Pairs well with Hexolite Armor.
Counter Skills
Beam Slicer, Blast Cannon, Lightning Streak (Phase 1), Hydro Slicer (Phase 2).
Dark Whisp could be great but is currently bugged (v0.7.1)
See Active Skills.
Threats
Try to stand far away from your raid army to ensure they don’t take random damage from Circle Vine and Geyser Gush during Phase 1.
In Phase 2 Hartalis uses Holy Burst and Sacred Rain that can destroy big pals.
The main difference between Normal and Ultra in mechanics is the 2 extra nukes at 0% hp for phase 1 and 50% hp for phase 2.
The 50% Phase 2 nuke has no health regen animation, you will need to be very fast with withdrawing pals to keep the raid army alive.
The best tactic is to build remote palbox devices around the edge of the raid area base radius.
