Pve Overview.
Vanwyrm Cryst gets +5 Attack and +5 Defense compared to the non-variant Vanwyrm. The 120 Attack stat is very high, 23rd highest in the game on a pal that can be captured from level 20. The Partner Skill also works like a budget element swap pal, slightly less bonus but works against all targets.
The downside is you need to be mounted on a slow mount that will quickly go down against stronger targets. You are probably better off fighting dragon bosses alongside Vanwyrm Cryst.
As a base pal it is a naturally nocturnal cooling pal that makes a good case for the Cooling Technique Books.
