Weapons

DPS

The DPS of weapons including the shoot & reload cycle.
Test done after the Flamethrower buff.
Ratio is the DPS % compared to the current highest (Plasma Cannon).
Laser Gatling Gun deals 82% DPS compared to Plasma Cannon while the regular Gatling Gun deals 69%.

Test done using Legendary Weapons.

Note: There has been no proper dps test done with the early/mid game weapons. Rarity not only increases Attack Power but also ammo capacity for some weapons. Until I have found all Legendary Schematics I can’t do a proper test. So far some of them are exclusive to dungeons so I have not farmed them yet.

AOE

A quick area of effect radius test to show how big the splash zone is.
Each Flower Pot represents how far away the Training Dummy took damage.
Rocket Launcher has a huge aoe, Plasma Cannon has a small aoe.

Ammo Efficiency Tests

Damage dealt compared to the required resources for the ammo, divided into buying or crafting.
These tests were done with GREEN (uncommon) weapons, to better represent average leveling numbers.
Some weapons get very high attack power boosts with better schematics (Old Revolver has 50% more attack as legendary than uncommon). If you get lucky and end up with a legendary schematic the initial cost to craft can be high but ammo costs and repairs will go down.

Damage per gold

For buying ammo from Merchants.
Relevant when leveling and you want to spend as little resources on ammo as possible when lowering pals before catching them.

The arrow weapons are very resource efficient with shotguns close behind. Just buying coarse ammo and using the Crossbow to aggro, Makeshift Shotgun to finish is a good setup to save gold.
This does not account for dps, how easy it is to hit all the shots or max range.

Ingot Weapons

For crafting each type of metal is its own category.
The damage per Gunpowder and Ore rank very similar with Compound Bow not using any Gunpowder at all.

Refined Metal Weapons

The damage per Gunpowder and Ore rank very similar with some outliers. Single-Shot Rifle is very gunpowder efficient. The shotguns continue to be efficient catching tools.
Assualt Rifle is probably best left to boss fights as it eats ammo.

Pal Metal Weapons

The damage per Gunpowder and Ore are now a bit more all over the place.
Now it is also time to keep in mind splash damage. This test is for single target, if you manage to hit 2+ packs of pals the explosive weapons become even better.
Around level 50 it seems best to use Grenade Launcher or Rocket Launcher.

Plasteel Weapons (Oil)

The ammo efficiency for the Multi and normal Guided is the same, multi just has much better dps.
Flamethrower can be used for added burn and aoe, making it a bit better than it seems on paper but still not great.
Laser Gatling Gun seems pretty bad overall, low damage and extreme ammo usage, also needs lots of electric organs.

Example: I use 80 oil per Chopper kill with a Multi Guided Missile Launcher and 450 oil per kill using a Laser Gatling Gun.

Hexolite Weapons

Just the two weapons, the bow is a bit more Hexolite efficient but Plasma Cannon has better DPS and does not require any nightstar sand to repair.
